Hope doc hit by legal wrangle
Article Abstract:
Iambic Productions, an independent producer, has challenged Bob Home Entertainment for forestalling the broadcast of its documentary on Bob Hope titled The Road to Bob on BBC. Bob Hope Entertainment claimed that they own the rights to the footages used in the film and plans to produce its own Bob Hope documentary causing the prevention of further showing of the film in the US after its launch in May 1998. The lawsuit, however, was protracted causing Iambic's UK version of the documentary to be delayed. Iambic said Bob Hope Entertainment's claims are unfounded and that the footages used were from a 1954 BBC program.
