Station inspections
Article Abstract:
The FCC has a right to inspect station premises under the 1934 Communications Act. Inspections should take place during a station's operating hours. FCC agents will carry proper identification; inspectors should be accompanied by station managers or employees during inspections. Equipment tests may be required during inspections, or agents may request access to equipment records.

Online call signs
Article Abstract:
Radio and television call signs may be shifted from a manual to an electronic allocation system. The new system, proposed by the Federal Communications Commission, would be available online and enable users to make requests, view availability and submit fees. No determination has been made as to whether the system will become mandatory or merely supplement the manual process.
