New tune for Singer

Adam Singer, aged 45, is the new executive chairman of Flextech and has been recruited to launch the company's pay-TV joint venture with British Broadcasting Corporation Ltd. Flextech, capitalized at 1.1 billion pounds sterling, has a 26% share of the UK's satellite and cable broadcasting services, with 14 owned or managed channels in its portfolio. Singer's experience in programming, public service broadcasting and pay-TV make him uniquely suited to the job of delivering profitable channels.

Article Abstract:
The UK Office of Fair Trading (OFT) has just completed a six month investigation into the operations of BSkyB pay-television operator. The investigation was carried out because of complaints by cable operators. However, while BSkyB has undertaken to change the structure of its rate card for cable operators which the OFT declared as being anti-competitive, it has still not been referred to the Mergers and Monopolies Commission.
