News Corp clears on Seven charges
Article Abstract:
Claims that News Corp was involved in the resignation of Ivan Deveson, the chairman of the free-to-air Seven Network, prompted an investigation by the Australian Broadcasting Authority (ABA). This body has now ruled that News Corp is not in a position to control Seven, in which it holds a 14.2% stake. Local observers have stated that the decision comes as no surprise, as proving links between News Corp and the management of Seven would have been very difficult.
