Public private rivalries
Article Abstract:
Various private channels in France have found ratings successes with various programming, including channel M6's "Loft Story," but public channel rivals are fighting back. For the 2001/2002 season, two private broadcasters TF1 and M6 will be main contenders in the ratings war, pushing out public broadcaster France 2 from the race. Public broadcasters plan to make changes to compete with private broadcasters, while staying within their obligations.
