RFL highlights terrestrial aims
Article Abstract:
BSkyB has signed a new 57-million-pounds-sterling deal with the Rugby Football League (RFL). The five-year deal, which will raise RFL's presence in terrestrial television, calls for the continued live showing of RFL's Super League matches and the Great Britain internationals on BSkyB's pay-TV sport channels. The deal also allows BSkyB to retain its rights to show highlights coverage of Great Britain internationals. The existing 87-million-pounds-sterling contract, however, still has two years to consume. Meanwhile, the deal presents additional terrestrial coverage for RFL, which raises concerns of low visibility since it is only shown on Sky Sports.
