Talk chiefs plot to foil MacKenzie bid
Article Abstract:
Talk Radio's management team, led by managing director Paul Robinson, plans to offer a bid to takeover the radio station from majority shareholder CLT-Ufa in order to rival the bid of 26 million pounds sterling from Kelvin MacKenzie's group. The management team, which also includes programme direcor John Simons, will be helped by its former backers such as the Guardian Media Group and United News & Media. The plan by Talk Radio's management, which is its second effort to buy stakes in Talk Radio, is also deemed supported by other major media companies.
