Eutelsat, a Paris, France-based satellite communications company, is determined to get its target users, who range from consumers to small businesses, to use its variety of products. By deciding to do this, they are also using easily available and open transmission standards, so that almost everyone can access something. The concept Eutelsat is applying is satellite reception, which is 1,000 times faster than regular dial-up.

Sky EPG cut-off halts 70 channels
Article Abstract:
BSkyB has announced that it will stop adding new names to its waiting list of channels that wish to join the company's satellite platform, due to limited memory space on set-top boxes. The company will only honor 30 out of the 100 channels on the electronic programme guide (EPG) waiting list. BSkyB's other plans for its EPG slots are discussed.

Flextech and Telewest merger eyes sport

Flextech, a pay-TV concern, and Telewest, a cable operator, announced this week their merger plans that could create a business worth nearly Pounds Sterling 10 billion. Some industry sources believe that Flextech may use the merger for launching its first premium channels on Telewest's digital cable network.
