Sky strikes deal for Kirch pay-TV stake
Article Abstract:
BSkyB has agreed to purchase a 24% stake in KirchPay TV (Germany) in a deal worth about Pounds Sterling 942 million. In order to fund part of the purchase, BSkyB intends to raise Pounds Sterling 320 million via an issue of new ordinary shares. The remainder of the deal, Pounds Sterling 622 million, will be from KirchPayTV taking approximately 78 million new ordinary BSkyB shares for a 4.3% stake in BSkyB's enlarged share capital.

Will its IPTV ambitions make Orange the new colour of television?
Article Abstract:
Mobile phone company Orange is set to launch its IPTV service in early 2008, and will face several issues in this new project. Broadband TV is getting more crowded, and Orange should go beyond brand marketing and work on its content and pricing. The posibility of Virgin Media having a strategic buyer is also discussed.
