Soap operas dominated the television ratings for the week ending December 24, with ITV's 'Coronation Street' taking the first four places and ITV's 'EastEnders' taking the fifth. The BBC's 'Independence Day' Christmas Eve movie helped the channel gain a 32 per cent primetime share, and BBC 2 won the top ten minority channel spots, with 'The Weakest Link' airing six times.
