Social change and the corporate construction of gaymarkets in the New York Times' advertising business news
Article Abstract:
A random sample of New York Times' advertising business news articles reveals change in the perception and pursuit of sexual minorities in gays, lesbians, bisexuals and trans-persons (GLBTs). The Times' contribution to norms, values and beliefs characterizing GLBTs, supports research characterizing the media an active agent shaping cultural production of sexuality.

The media coverage of Afghan women before and after the US invasion on 7 October 2001 is analyzed. An overview of the conflicts in Afghanistan, focusing on the US's economic and strategic interests in the religion and its role in supporting and funding Islamic fundamentalism is presented.
