Article Abstract:
There were a number of complications associated with the production by Abbey Films of ITV's four-part drama serial 'Bliss.' Most importantly, Michael Stewart, who wrote the 1996 pilot of the serial, also wrote a drama about scientific investigators for BBC1, and this was shown before 'Bliss.' Jane Tranter, executive producer for drama at Carlton, was very interested in the idea for the serial, and acted as executive producer. However, she believes that Stewart acted inappropriately.
