The big battle: breakfast TV ratings have changed beyond recognition as BBC 2's menu of cartoons edges into the territory of GMTV and Channel 4's Big Breakfast
Article Abstract:
Breakfast TV is an aggresively competitive sector and the latest figures put the ITV breakfast franchisee on top, followed by BBC 1 and BBC 2, and the combined cable and satellite channels. Channel 4's four year old show is way behind, despite once leading the field and recently undergoing a 1 million pounds sterling relaunch. The upward swing by BBC 2 appears to have coincided with the arrival of Liz Barron in April, daytime scheduler.
