A tide to turn: Cuts and red tape threaten the future of Navy labs
Article Abstract:
Navy labs have long been a force in bringing together technologies and introducing new ones into the fleet but these organizations that translate technology into naval capabilities are in trouble. They have experienced years of cuts and operate under a stifling bureaucracy which should be fixed immediately otherwise it might affect the future naval capabilities.

The return of Kaho'olawe
Article Abstract:
The Kaho'olawe Unexploded Ordnance Clearance Project was the longest continuous ordnance cleanup project carried out by the U.S. Navy that was completed in the year 2004. Details on the project and the various strategies used by the defense department in this cleanup project are given.
