Article Abstract:
The Austrian government's 2002 decision to replace the obsolete Saab-35 DRAKEN with the TYPHOON generated significant controversy in the country's media and amongst its parliamentary opposition. The many efforts to derail the program are recounted but despite these the program is going full speed ahead.
