Bridges for the new world disorder
Article Abstract:
The end of the Cold War and the increase in the number of peacekeeping missions around the world have combined to create a demand for better military bridging systems. These bridges vary in their specific functions, including close support bridges, general support/tactical bridges, logistic bridges and bridges for specialist requirements. Armies all over the world are demanding bridging systems that are interchangeable in order to facilitate field operations and standardize the training of personnel.

Article Abstract:
Two hundred years after Vice Admiral Lord Nelson's victory at Trafalgar enshrined Victory's place in the annals of naval history, the Royal Navy's next generation of surface combatant is being fashioned at BAE Systems Naval Ships' yard at Scotstoun on the north bank of the River Clyde. The victory of the Battle of Trafalgar and the Royal Navy's latest shipbuilding programs are discussed.
