Cries of the hunchback: Is space a theatre of war or a sanctuary?
Article Abstract:
The Outer Space Treaty (OST) created in 1967 was aimed at keeping space a sanctuary free of weapons. However, considering the international political climate, the activities of the Bush Administration and the establishment of the United States as the 'superpower', the strategic balance that once existed with the former Soviet Union has been done away with and acknowledged weaponization is imminent unless a wisely negotiated international accord is signed.

Restrictive rules of engagement and force protection: Resolving the leadership dilemma
Article Abstract:
Solutions are discussed to the dilemmas for leaders in Iraq who have to instruct their Marines to follow the restrictive rules of engagement (ROE) in order to minimize civilian casualties, and the same time focus on their force protection. Effectively educating Marines on what counterinsurgency requires and clarity on ROE would result in a proficient counterinsurgent force readily adhering to ROE if they consider the rules a tactical benefit.
