Innovative teams are building goodwill at the grass-roots level
Article Abstract:
The American and coalition Provincial Reconstruction Teams (PRTs) have front-line fighters in the battle for hearts and minds in Afghanistan, which is an important and evolving experiment in counterinsurgency warfare. The idea for PRTs was conceived in late 2002 wherein the teams comprise of not just soldiers, but diplomats, development policy experts and representatives of the Afghan government in Kabul to the corners of the country.

2,500 marines to SOCOM: Pending move benefits anti-terrorism war
Article Abstract:
The Corps and Special Operations Command (SOCOM) signed off a memorandum of agreement detailing a new working relationship between the organizations such as the four star commandant of the Marine Corps, the four star Army general commanding the joint service SOCOM and others. Two dozen 13-member teams the Marine Corps will field later in the year 2005 which would be tailored for training foreign military units.
