Charting new waters: Royal Navy launches radical training overhaul
Article Abstract:
The UK Royal Navy (RN) has traditionally used shore-based simulators as the training method, but technological advances have led to a radical training overhaul in the RN. A BAE Systems-led Seabridge team has been chosen by the Ministry of Defence in 2006 to implement the RN's Maritime Composite Training System (MCTS), by which the MCTS stations using touch-sensitive screens could be moved around on trolleys, and provide a clear representation of all associated controls.
