Delivery dates confirmed for Hellenic Navy's type 214 submarines

Hellenic Shipyards Company SA of Skaramangas, Greece, has signed a contract for the supply of three Type 214 submarines to the Greek Ministry of Defense on Feb 15, 2000. The contract, valued at Dr430 billion ($1.24 billion), also includes an option for a fourth submarine. The German- designed vessels, which will be delivered from 2006 to 2009, will feature a submerged displacement of 1,860 tons, eight torpedo tubes and an endurance of 50 days.

Greece opts for Super Vita FAC
Article Abstract:
Vosper Thornycroft (VT) has won a $318-million contract to provide the Hellenic Navy with its Super Vita-class fast attack craft (FAC). VT will provide the design, construction support, and ship's equipment to Greece's Elefsis Shipyard, which was the designated prime contractor for the FAC program. VT will also deliver two ex-UK Royal Navy Hunt-class mine countermeasures vessels to the Hellenic Navy.

Hellenic Navy 'Pomornik' ACV completes load trials

The Hellenic Navy (Greece) has finished the load trials of the Zubr-class "Pomornik" air cushion vehicle (ACV). Greece has ordered four of the ACVs.
