Commanding officer (CO) of HDMS Absalon Cdr Per Starklint clarifies the Royal Danish Navy's (RDN's) decision on acquiring multipurpose ships. The Flexible Support Ships (FSS) were necessary for the RDN as the participation in the international operations were recognized as the number one priority and these ships have a versatile platform that is capable of conducting many tasks across the full spectrum of conflict.
