The US President George W. Bush's signature into law of the US-Central America Free Trade Agreement (CAFTA) has indicated a narrow victory over strong domestic opposition within all participating countries. The free trade deal intends to remove trade barriers, facilitate investment and strengthen intellectual property protections.
