International cooperation
Article Abstract:
International cooperation and maintaining regional peace by the Royal Malaysian Navy (RMN) has become a shared incentive, as the region shares common sea borders with most of the Southeast Asian countries and as the costs of war and conflict in the future is undesirable. The emerging regional security environment necessitates and offers conditions for advancing all sorts of cooperation in promoting CBM and RMN in maximizing its efforts to increase cooperative undertakings at sub regional, regional and global levels.

Cross-ocean cooperation in sonars & allied technologies

Thomson Marconi Sonar (TMS) is a major sonar supplier to domestic markets in the UK, France and Australia, and is also an exporter to more than 40 navies throughout the world. TMS provides a complete line of sonar and related applications in submarines, surface ships, airborne, torpedo, mine countermeasures, masts and communications among others. It also has aseismic business line that provides seismic streamers to oil exploration companies.

Coastal surveillance-Maps integrating above and below water sensors
Article Abstract:
The challenging threat of fast small crafts with very low radar signature, swimmer delivery vehicles and divers, and midgets requires extremely effective detectors to provide instant reaction capability in shallow waters. Surveillance systems, which are able to scan from the surface to the seabed, provide a low false alarm rate and extensively automated tracking management.
