Poland to improve naval base protection
Article Abstract:
The Polish Navy is planning to use indigenously developed technologies for improving the port protection capabilities of its naval bases against submarine and terrorist threats. Poland's center for undersea warfare, Gdynai-based Centrum Techniki Morskiej (CTM) in association with Poland's Naval Academy (AMW) has developed these technologies, which are based on the Kryl family of underwater surveillance systems.

UK expands army surveillance and intelligence capabilities
Article Abstract:
The UK Ministry of Defense (MoD) is planning to enhance its intelligence gathering capacity with the establishment of a new Defense HUMINT Unit (DHU) as part of the Intelligence Corps. The DHU is intended to capitalize on 30 years' experience of agent-handling gained in Northern Ireland, and also to raise Middle Eastern cultural knowledge and operating capability.
