Maritime patrol aircraft take the centre stage
Article Abstract:
The maritime patrol aircraft (MPA) has proven itself valuable in various roles on land and sea, but the trend towards littoral environment and the increasing number of peacetime missions is altering its design and deployment. In meeting requirements for littoral operations, the MPA will need new capabilities in communications, sensors as well as new weapons and self-protection. Peacetime missions, on the other hand, will require the MPA to improve its IR detection system and internal data system.
