Modernized target acquisition designation system pilot night vision sensor for the Apache

Col. Mark Hayes, Apache Training and Doctrine Command System manager, emphasized the contributions of the latest addition to the Apache system, the modernized target acquisition designation system/pilot night vision sensor (M-TADS/PNVS) as part of the Apache program update provided during the October 2006 AUSA Annual Meeting. M-TADS/PNVS is the modernized version of the target acquisition designation system/pilot night vision sensor mounted in the Apache helicopter.

Article Abstract:
The US Army is evaluating four candidates for its tactical unmanned aerial vehicle (TUAV) acquisition program. The four UAVs are General Atomics' Prowler II, TRW Inc's Sentry, Allian Techsystems Inc's Outrider and AAI Corp's Shadow 200. The four candidates will participate in the Army's TUAV fly-off demonstration in Nov 1999 as a confidence and performance demonstration for a source-selection decision.
