Attack on Abqaiq highlights growing focus on oil targets
Article Abstract:
The implications of the terrorist attack on 24 February 2006 on the Abqaiq oil processing facility in Saudi Arabia which was five strong and drew support from a logistical support cell in Riyadh is presented. The attackers and their support cell predominantly came from the Buraydah and al-Zulfi regions of northwest Saudi Arabia and were bound by strong kinship ties.

Attack highlights threat to Saudi infrastructure
Article Abstract:
The attack on the Saudi Arabian petrochemical facility in Yanbu on May 1, 2004 has highlighted concern over the vulnerability of the Kingdom's infrastructure to a terrorist attack. The successful attack on the Kingdom's oil infrastructure may have an immediate impact on the energy markets but the risk of serious damage to oil production is very less.
