The Communist Party of Nepal, in five years of guerrilla fighting, has caused billions of dollars in property damage and has killed some 1,700 citizens of Nepal. There is, however, the prospect of negotiations between the guerrillas and the government.

LTTE adopts heavy artillery
Article Abstract:
The Sri Lankan rebel group, the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam, have acquired heavy artillery and other more advanced weapons of war. Their new weapons capability has enabled them to launch several successful attacks against government troops.

Anti-Ocalan faction emerges in PKK

The leader of the Kurdish Worker's Party, Abdullah Ocalan, has been captured by Turkish forces, and a new faction of the party has emerged. The new faction, led by Selahattin Celik, is called 'The Initiative.'
