The Norwegian Armed Forces supports the country's police and civil society with intelligence and surveillance, but their national focus is on the Barents Sea and the 'High North' adjacent areas whose vast energy resources could be a cause for conflict. Maj. Gen. Stein Erik Nodeland, Chief of Staff of the Royal Norwegian Air Force, discusses the objectives of the Norwegian Armed Forces as well as the country's approach to air power.

Pakistan joined the US-led international coalition against terrorism after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and its contribution allowed the coalition to achieve significant success in the war on terrorism, which is acknowledged across the world. The war against terrorism has become diplomatic tool in the hands of the powerful countries to achieve their political objectives.
