US Coast Guard gets I-band surveillance radar
Article Abstract:
The US Coast Guard (USCG) has received its Selex Sensors & Airborne Systems (S&AS) Seaspray 7500E active electronically scanned array (AESA) I-band surveillance radar for operational evaluation in 2006. The operational evaluation is designed to demonstrate functionality in advance of the retrofit of the Seaspray 7500E radar is fitted to the USCG HC-130H fleet.

SMART-S Mk 2 radar shines in sea trials

Thales Nederland reported the successful trials of the SMART-S Mk 2 radar from aboard the Royal Danish Navy ship HDMS Absalon. This may prompt the Danish Defence Acquisition and Logistics Organisation (DALO) to confirm acceptance of the radar system.

Japan makes first BMD interception with US

The first successful launch of the sea-based ballistic missile defense (BMD) intercept flight test was conducted by the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force. The test was done with the cooperation of the U.S. Missile Defense Agency.
