Philippine kidnap gang leader killed
Article Abstract:
Philippine government forces have confirmed the death of the kidnap gang leader following the airstrikes on his gang's Mindanao stronghold. Tahir Alonto, head of the Pentagon Gang, a heavily armed Muslim group responsible to more than 30 kidnappings was killed along with his 18 followers when Philippine Air Force attacked his house in Liguasan Marsh area of central Mindanao on 13 August 2004.
