Piracy and terrorism should not be conflated
Article Abstract:
Latest tri-annual conference of the International maritime Bureau (IMB) on piracy and maritime security which, in conjunction with the Royal Malaysian Police observed that there is no evidence suggesting the forging of operational links between terrorist groups and pirates. The two-day conference brought 150 delegates representing a broad range of concerned parties, including government, navies, coastguards, law enforcement agencies and the shipping industry.
