Article Abstract:
Acts of piracy and armed robbery against ships have increased in the Somali waters putting vital humanitarian food aid shipments in jeopardy, threatening food security in war-torn Mogadishu. Complete absence of the rule of law after the collapse of the Somali state, confused internal politics of the country, and unrestrained illegal fishing in Somali waters all contribute to the sudden rise in piracy.
