Hellenic Armed Forces modernization programmes
Article Abstract:
The main procurement programs under the 1996-2000 modernization program of the Hellenic Armed Forces are presented. The presentation also includes programs funded outside the so-called EMPAE (Unified Medium-Term Program for Development and Modernization) and requirements that are likely to receive funding under the next 2000-2005 EMPAE. Current programs include New Fighter Aircraft, which covers orders for 15 Dassault MIRAGE 2000-5 Mk2 and 550 Lockheed Martin F-16C/D Block 50+ aircraft.

The Swiss Armament Program 1999
Article Abstract:
Switzerland is expected to spend about SwF1.1 billion on defense procurement under its 1999 Armament Program. The 1999 budget represents a significant drop from an annual defense expenditure of about SwF1.8 billion in the early 1990s. The 1999 defense procurement program covers 11 projects, including the FLORAKO air surveillance system (SwF239 million), wheeled armored personnel carriers (SwF132 million), R-905 microwave systems (SwF103 million) and radio relays (SwF60 million).
