Replacing the weapons of the Marine fire team; new firepower must aid fire teams
Article Abstract:
There are plans to replace the Marine Corps' M249 automatic weapon, as well as the M16A2 service rifle. There are competent weapons that can be used as replacements, but the primary consideration should be the selection of weapons that would best assist Marines in accomplishing their primary mission.

From the helicopter to the V-22: the Corps' continuing duty
Article Abstract:
The Marine Corps' use of helicopters, which began in the late 1940s and early 1950s, helped reshape tactical mobility, just as the V-22 aircraft is doing some 50 years later. The V-22 offers greater speed, larger capacity, and longer range.
