Revenge of the staff weenie
Article Abstract:
'Staff Weenie' is the single best source for military humor, the soldier who was relegated to a staff position in support of a higher officer's decision-making process. The staff weenies are known for doing their second public service by maintaining a record of the dysfunctions of military leadership, and much military humor and anecdotes have come from the writings of such staff officers, who were present to see the misses and omissions committed by their superiors.

Theater of war: Online videos show the troops' view of Iraq
Article Abstract:
Videos from Iraq are on the Web since early in the war, and the most common format for such online videos are photo montages either compiled by returning U.S. troops to commemorate their experiences in the war, or by American citizens to express their gratitude to the soldiers fighting there. The videos provide a clear view into the lives of combat, boredom, and pointless amusement of the soldiers in Iraq.
