Thales-NL validates critical radar system requirements for mortar interception
Article Abstract:
Thales Nederland has, in partnership with the Royal Netherlands Navy (RNLN), performed a measurement campaign to verify the performance of its in-service active phased array radar (APAR) to counter mortar, artillery and rocket attacks against military compounds or other high-value sites ashore or in harbors. This project is known as mortar defense radar systems (MARS) and the trial demonstrated that even with the smallest rounds, early detection was achievable.
