Russia eyes Japan's defence market
Article Abstract:
Russia's government and arms makers are looking to provide for Japan's requirement for defense equipment in the light of the improving diplomatic relationship between the two countries. The two countries diplomatic and economic relations have improved despite the lack of a resolution concerning ownership of the disputed Kurile islands. The improved ties comes amidst Russia's growing need for cash as well as foreign investment, of which Japan has much to offer. Meanwhile, the Russian government looking into the possibility of selling its Su-27 Flanker fighter aircraft to the Japanese.
