Secretary Rumsfeld makes surprise visit to Iraq
Article Abstract:
The Defense Secretary Donald H Rumsfeld and Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Richard B. Meyers gave a surprise visit to United States troops in Baghdad, Iraq to meet the Coalition Provisional Authority Officials. Two new commands were activated replacing CJTF-7: Multinational Corps Iraq and Multinational Force Iraq, since a combined task force could not handle the military work load in Iraq.

The evolution of war scene reporting and how it has reached its peak in Iraq is detailed. Journalists who were allowed to stay with and accompany the war units during the war, reported directly when the war took place.

Two Rhode Islands National Guard soldiers die in Iraq
Article Abstract:
Rhode Islands Army National Guard escorted to south of Baghdad and there was an explosion from an improvised explosive device. The explosion killed two members of the crew, Charles Caldwell and Joseph Camara.
