USAF releases review of launch failures
Article Abstract:
The US Air Force released a review of recent space launch failures, citing a premature shift in focus from existing launch programs to the next- generation Evolved Expendable Launch Vehicles as one of the underlying causes. The review, headed by retired Gen Larry D Welch, former Air Force Chief of Staff, concluded that both the government and private sectors limited important fly-out activities as they started studying future systems.

Lawmakers urge Rumsfeld to proceed with F-22
Article Abstract:
Fifty-nine members of Congress petitioned Sec of Defense Donald Rumsfeld to maintain funding of the F-22 fighter plane, as it is a necessary weapon in the military arsenal.
