Strategic crossroads: War on terror is reshaping force
Article Abstract:
September 11, 2001, terrorist attack have brought a profound change in the U.S. military force who now fly combat air patrols in the skies over major U.S. cities instead of waiting for long-range bombers to appear on the horizon. Some of the US strategic priorities are discussed such as the need to build partnerships with other countries to combat terrorism, defending the US homeland in depth and influencing the development of emerging powers, particularly China.

Transformation
Article Abstract:
Retired Major General Bob Scales and retired Vice Adm. Art Cebrwoski present their views on Pentagon's effort to pursue an expensive, network-centric future. Retired Vice Adm. Arthur Cebrowski feels that the transformation is largely about behavioral change and it contains profound organizational and process dimensions.

Sea basing and the lessons of Okinawa: We should explore many concepts - or risk embracing one that isn't feasible
Article Abstract:
It is recommended that before sea basing is prematurely abandoned, an attempt should be made to eliminate the conceptual boundary between land and sea. Additionally it is recommended that the lessons learnt from the conquest of Okinawa be analyzed and applied to current conditions.
