The Tactical High-Energy Laser
Article Abstract:
The world's first anti-rocket laser was developed due to Israel's need to defend its northern populated areas from rocket attacts launched from Lebanon. The Tactical High-Energy Laser was a result of the Advanced Concept Technology Demonstration program, a joint US/Israel initiative that expedites technolgoy to warfighters. To hasten the development, the laser system was constructed using selected components from various companies. Aside from being very fast and accurate, the system can counter several incoming rockets.
