George Tenet, Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director made a rare reference to the USAEs practice of extraordinary rendition, during a testimony to the US commission. He observed that rendition was one of the principal strategies employed against the terrorist threat and that the USAEs rendition partners were essential to the CIAEs effectiveness.
