The recent performance and future plans of defense contractor EADS N.V. are discussed in relation to the European Security and Defence Initiative and consolidation in the defense industry in Europe. The North Atlantic Treaty Organization, a paradigm shift in the overall industry, and mergers by other firms are mentioned.

EADS going for maximum support of Armed Forces Joint Information Systems

The Defense Electronics and Telecommunications unit of EADS N.V. has combined command and control, reconnaissance, surveillance, and information systems with planning systems to create the Joint Information Network System. The system is designed for use in a new defense paradigm of international joint missions.
