The Dresden legend
Article Abstract:
Many antiwar activists considered the 1945 attack on Dresden, an old and graceful German city on the Elbe River, as a war crime, but the real story behind the attack was very different. Dresden backed Adolf Hitler and it shifted to a wartime footing with the large Zeiss-Ikon camera factory converted to make fuses and bombsight optics and thus the U.S. Army Air Forces attacked the city.

Wesley Clark's war; the campaign was in the air, but SACEUR's mind was on the ground
Article Abstract:
US Army General Wesley Clark, who headed the NATO forces in the Kosovo conflict, later wrote a book on the campaign, 'Waging Modern War.' Curiously, Clark neglected to give airpower the credit it deserved in the conflict.
