The changing face of Marine Corps administration
Article Abstract:
The reduction of roughly 9,000 billets constituting the Marine Corp administrative structure by more than 1,000 billets in 1997 and 1998 created the sense of urgency required to launch the Total Force Administration System (TFAS). TFAS was designed to modernize the Corps' pay and administrative system and to reduce the administrative footprint which has traditionally been brought to the battlefield. More importantly, it is strengthening the Corps' core competency.
