Can heliplane fill the "connector" gap in navy's sea basing concept?: "there are people who believe" in gyroplane technology-base design
Article Abstract:
The heliplane, a hybrid craft with wings and a rotor might be the only way to provide the U.S. navy's fleet with troops and material from ships at sea to tactical units ashore. A key to this sea-basing concept by the Navy is that the U.S forces sent to the world's hot spots could operate from the sea rather than supply depots.
