The intelligence gamble
Article Abstract:
US President George W. Bush signed legislation in December 2004 to reorganize the nation's Intelligence Community with the creation of a new spy expert to oversee 15 intelligence agencies and strengthen border and aviation security. However, critics believe that the number of new high-level posts created by the bill might work against its stated aim of streamlining intelligence and the military's access to strategic information might depend on a few words inserted in the act at the last moment.

Partners in space
Article Abstract:
Cooperation between the US military, private sector and industry will be the key to ensure US dominance of space. The US Air Force has long deplored its lack of resources to make a smooth transition to a truly aerospace force but a cooperative framework has been bearing fruit lately. While the US remains the only true global superpower, the rapid development of technologies, particularly information-based technologies, threatens to erode that advantage.
