Article Abstract:
The fourth-generation warfare (4GW) has much to be recommended, especially in addressing the present insurgency in Iraq however unfortunately, popular interpretations of 4GW have significant intellectual-and practical-gaps. The present incarnation 4GW is hostile to technology and is a deviation from its original construct and out of line with the view of its more thoughtful adherents, and thus its principles have a great potential to be misused and misunderstood.
