The Security Conference on Protecting Infrastructure took place in Salt Lake City, Utah, just as the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were taking place in the east. Although the conference was designed to discuss the upcoming Winter Olympics, the other events were on everyone's mind. Conference details are discussed.

Countering the roadside bombers
Article Abstract:
There is increasing use of roadside bombs by terrorists in countries ranging from Northern Ireland to Sri Lanka. Such bombs are also used on railways, or at other locations. Controlled by a wire circuit, or by radio, the devices are used to disrupt traffic, or even to assassinate specific individuals.

Sea Tigers, stealth technology and the North Korean connection
Article Abstract:
The Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam may be using weapons produced in North Korea. A videotape, taken during the sinking of a Sri Lanka Navy passenger ship, reveals both a rocket launcher and stealth craft that may have been made in North Korea.
